Dr Sania Shakoor

Dr Sania Shakoor is a Chartered Psychologist, Lecturer in Mental Health and multidisciplinary researcher at Queen Mary University of London. Her research interests lie in developmental psychopathology with a focus on childhood adversity (i.e. bullying, maltreatment, stressful life events), interpersonal violence (i.e. intimate partner violence) and disparities in mental health conditions and care amongst minority groups.

To date, her work has utilised genetically sensitive longitudinal data from large cohorts to explore risk and resiliency factors, and underlying mechanisms (i.e. cognitive processing) that shape the mental health of vulnerable young individuals.
