Introduction to Kidscape

Kidscape has been leading the child protection and anti-bullying field for over 30 years. We are experts in our field, delivering impactful and lasting results to thousands of young people, families and professionals every year.

Our mission to keep children safe from all kinds of abuse is achieved through a wide range of child protection, anti-bullying and safeguarding work with individuals, schools, professionals working with children and the general public.

We believe that all children have the right to grow up in a safe environment, and that those adults responsible for the care of young people should have the skills and knowledge they need to ensure the safety of the children in their care.

Job purpose

We are seeking to appoint a volunteer to assist the small fundraising team with applications to grantmaking trusts and foundations. These have been a staple of Kidscape’s income for many years, yet as the demands on the fundraising team have increased, so our available time to research and apply to trusts has decreased.

We are hoping to find somebody who shares our passion for keeping children safe, and who would be able to spare one day per week in researching trusts and writing bid applications to funders for amounts up to £10,000 each. You would also assist the Head of Fundraising in preparing larger, six-figure bids from time to time. No previous experience in fundraising is necessary, but what is essential is that you are an excellent written communicator who can clearly and concisely present ideas and put forward a compelling case for support.

The position would ideally be located at Kidscape’s office in London, but home-working would be possible as long as you could travel to the office for initial training and on the occasions when access to office-based resources are vital for the role. This is a voluntary role but travel and subsistence expenses will be paid.

If you think that this might be an opportunity for you, please get in touch with us by email to with your CV (no more than 2 sides A4), telling us why you think you would be suitable for this position.
