All eyes on SWOTY
All eyes were turned to 8 Northumberland Avenue last night as we celebrated our 7th year as the beneficiary charity of the Spectacle Wearer of the Year awards in association with Specsavers. We were joined by a host of celebrities as Michaela Williams was crowned Spectacle Wearer of the Year, winning a prize of £10,000 and a holiday in the Bahamas.
Kidscape ambassador Gok Wan hosted the event supported by Girls Aloud star Kimberley Walsh, who performed during the night, and Kidscape was delighted to unveil its newest ambassador, Ronan Parke (pictured with Kidscape staff), who performed his song 'Defined'. An auction and raffle was expertly conducted by Christopher Biggins leading to a grand total of £45,000 being raised for Kidscape on the night.
We would like to thank all those who attended, supplied auction and raffle prizes, or helped in any other way to make the evening such a huge success. The money raised is so very needed to help Kidscape continue its life-changing work with the targets of bullies.
