We are extremely excited to be bring you details of a fantastic fundraising event which has launched today. We haven't been allowed to talk about it until now, but please read on to see why we're so excited.

Since 2006 eBay has raised over £50 million for charities through its eBay for charity site. To celebrate this fantastic milestone, eBay is hosting its biggest ever celebrity auction, which has gone live today.

We are absolutely delighted to announce that one of the celebrity auctions on offer has been donated by Kidscape patron Anthony Horowitz, who has chosen Kidscape as the beneficiary.

Anthony is currently writing the next Sherlock Holmes novel after the success of his 2011 book House of Silk - the first Sherlock Holmes novel to be authorised by the estate of Conan Doyle. He is giving the winning bidder the chance to be featured in the book, to be published in October 2014.

The greater the bid, the greater your appearance!

In a great twist to the typical auction, the greater the bid, the greater your appearance in the novel! A low winning bid may give you a name check, but bid more and you may become a fully-fledged character. The holy grail? Sherlock Holmes himself may interview you as a suspect, but only if your bid is high enough...

We're incredibly excited and would love you all to take a look at the auction and bid for your chance to become part of British crime history. The auction is live from today (23 August) until 1 September, so please click here to see the current status of the auction and place your bid.

Kidscape will receive 100% of the winning bid and this has the potential for being a fantastic fundraiser for us.

Thank you and happy bidding!
