We love it when our supporters put on events to raise funds for Kidscape. It's a great way of raising awareness of our work and the support we give to children and families, as well as raising vital funds.
Here are some ideas you might like to try:
Auction of promises: get a group of friends together and auction off your individual or collective skills: cooking a meal, decorating a room, sports lesson, gardening, window cleaning, ironing, walking the dog - the list is (almost) endless!
Bake sale: bake your way to fundraising success! Remember to include cakes for specialist diets.
Car boot sale: turn unwanted goods into funds for Kidscape - remember to ask family and friends to donate items for you to sell.
Birthday fundraising: ask for donations to Kidscape in lieu of presents on your birthday, at Christmas or even at Easter.
Clothes swap: each person brings along unwanted items (in good condition) and swaps them with other friends/colleagues. Charge a small fee for entry and raise extra by selling drinks and cakes.
Coffee morning: for friends or the whole community, include a ‘guess the weight of the cake’ competition to raise further funds.
Dare to do... get sponsored for: bathing in beans, shaving your head, growing a moustache, hopping a mile - or any combination of these!
Dress down day: a simple but fabulous way to raise money at work (or school). Colleagues pay £1 to ‘dress down’ (introduce a colour theme if appropriate - remember, yellow is the colour of friendship).
Fancy dress party: hire a venue or host it at your house or your local pub.
Formal Ball: traditional dinner and dance, masquerade ball, prom.
Games Night: get your friends round for an evening playing traditional board games, charades or video games - charge each person to play, and raise more funds by selling food and drink!
Live performance: put on a play, poetry evening, talent competition, battle of the bands or dance-off.
Murder mystery: host a dinner party with a difference.
Office party: have fun with your colleagues and raise funds by selling refreshments, creating challenges and having sweepstake.
Pamper party: get the girls (or boys) together and charge for painting nails, face masks, drinks and snacks.
Quiz night: select a theme - sport, TV soaps, films or music.
Sporting challenge events: skydive, abseil, marathon, triathlon or walk.
Sporty fundraisers: five-a-side football, pool tournaments, golf championships - why not use the Kidscape red and blue for your team colours?
Who’s the baby? A great one for the office - collect photos of your colleagues when they were babies and charge people to enter and guess who is who. The one who guesses the most right wins a prize.
Yodelling competition: this event is for those that dare, laugh your way to raise funds.
You decide... Come up with your own idea to fundraise to help Kidscape.
We would love to see any photos you have from your event - so please share them on social media with the hashtag #kidscape
