Kidscape and Grass Roots - working together for friendship
There are many ways in which organisations can engage with Kidscape.
All of our partners - both past and present - have supported us in diverse ways including hosting fundraising events, sponsoring our initiatives or offering unique expertise through pro-bono support in areas such as media production, design and marketing.
One previous partnership was with Grass Roots, a leading provider of employee and customer engagement solutions. By making Kidscape its charity of the year for two years running, we were able to work together to make a significant contribution to:
- Grass Roots' corporate social responsibility input
- employees' local primary schools
- anti-bullying education in schools

Grass Roots kicked off its fundraising calendar with a balloon release from each of the organisations' three sites. Over the two year period they went on to arrange a number of exciting fundraising initiatives to include portrait photography, auctions, Mother's Day gifts, raffles, games and the sale of charity products in the staff canteen.
Investing in the local community
For every £10,000 raised to support our national programme of work, £2,500 was reinvested into Grass Roots' local community in Tring. Grass Roots staff nominated four primary schools which they wanted to support. We then worked on a fantastic project to design and build a friendship garden in each school. These gardens provide a quiet, reflective space where pupils can go when they are feeling sad, lonely or upset.
As part of the friendship garden project, our specialist trainers delivered anti-bullying workshops to the school staff and worked with them to determine how the friendship garden could be incorporated into their current anti-bullying strategies.
Grass Roots staff were involved in all aspects of the friendship garden including design, sourcing materials, building and planting. This gave the organisation a fantastic team building opportunity and brought a large number of staff face-to-face with our beneficiaries.
