Annual Review 2019/2020
These are not easy times to be growing up.
Children are living through a time of great uncertainty with high levels of social isolation and loneliness. While there are many wonderful schools, they are under significant pressure, in local areas that have seen budgets for child and family support severely reduced. There are increasing pressures on family life, the prospect of a challenging job market against the high cost of further education, and the day to day pressures of living life ‘online’ with pressure to project the perfect body and life. Not surprisingly we have seen the impact of this on levels of bullying, children’s relationships with one another, their resilience and wellbeing.
However, we know our work can and does make a difference. With your help we can give hope and help to thousands of children each year, embedding our support for children, families and schools in communities throughout England and Wales. We have also been able to respond quickly to the impact of the pandemic, adapting our services for online delivery, and developing many brilliant partnerships to help reach children and families in innovative ways.
We are proud of our achievements, but we can only continue to reach children and their families because of the support you and others continue to give.
