What Children\Teenagers thought

Thank you for helping me with the people who bully me and making me feel important and confident. I really appreciate it. I am finding it easier to cope with bullies.

I would just like to thank you for making me realise that the bullying wasn't my fault and that I was worth a lot more than I thought I was.

I would definitely recommend Kidscape to others in the same situation as I learnt a lot and had a really great day that I won't forget!

I had been expecting to meet other kids who were "freaks", "weirdoes" and "smelled", as this was what I had come to believe about myself. It was such a relief to meet everyone else who was being bullied and to see that they were normal!

I enjoyed the whole day - it was really fun!

I wouldn't have had the courage to (start kickboxing) before the ZAP course, so thank you!

What the Parents thought

Thanks again, (our child) has slowly but surely returned to her true self. She is friendly, happy, appreciative and responsive and has taken up kickboxing - her idea! She returned to school and has coped much better and resolves lots of problems and now faces her past and the demons who haunted her. She keeps in touch with some of the group...we are very grateful - thanks again.

...(after attending) the ZAP course, (our daughter) is becoming a different child. We have started to hear her laugh, she is getting so, so much more confident. She has just achieved the dubious status of having a boyfriend, and she is getting that mischievous glint back in her eye too.

Thank you so much for organising such a lovely day last Tuesday for my daughter. I feel she gained so much from it as it gave her the opportunity to meet other children that have suffered at the hands of bullies. It made it feel like she wasn't the only one.

After the last few months of (my son) being bullied at his school, we appreciated that at last someone was trying to help, and that we weren't isolated. On meeting the other children and their parents, I felt that we could get and give support to each other through Kidscape, and I thank you for that.

Having attended the (ZAP) parental session, I feel more confident in speaking more assertively to the people involved with that responsible position. Despite all rules and regulations of education, sometimes there is a time when we have to take a stand, in the knowledge of what is happening to protect our children. Thank you so much for your dedication and passion for eradicating bullying.

None of my other friends with teenage children have been in my situation and it was my first time to meet other parents that I felt I had something in common with..
