Kidscape Child Protection\Safeguarding Courses

Kidscape Child Protection trainers have previously worked for many years within the Metropolitan Police in Child Abuse Investigation and Child Protection Training. They have carried out Child Protection training for Kidscape in schools in the UK and around the world in British International Schools as well as in other organisations such as British Gas.

We currently offer courses in -

Basic Child Protection\Safeguarding

It is essential for anyone who works, or volunteers, in settings where they come into contact with children, to undertake Child Protection training to recognise the importance of Child Protection/Safeguarding issues. Staff should undertake this course every three years. This course is equivalent to level 1 and level 2 combined.

Aim:

The aim of this course is to enhance awareness and encourage good practice for all those who come in to contact with children, 0 to 18yrs, in a variety of settings, including schools, youth programmes, family support centres, community groups, through their work, or as a volunteer.

This certificated course can also be held in your venue at a cost of £495 for up to 30 people per one day course, plus trainer's travel and accommodation, if applicable. Advanced Child Protection\Safeguarding Course

Kidscape’s advanced course is specifically designed for managers who are responsible for the child protection process in their setting. It is advised that those who apply for this course should have completed a Basic Child Protection/Safeguarding Course. Designated Child Protection Officers should undertake this course every two years. This course is equivalent to Level 3.

Aim:

To equip all those attending with the knowledge& skills needed to perform the function of ‘Designated Person’ or ‘Child protection Officer’ in their setting.

Exploitation and Abuse of Children and Vulnerable People

This course is designed to give delegates an awareness and understanding of the exploitation of children and vulnerable people. It also enables delegates to recognise and identify the signs and indicators of exploitation and abuse.

It also addresses the issues faced by people working with children who may suspect a child and/or vulnerable person is or has been exploited or abused.  It explores duty of care imposed on individuals and statutory agencies. Lastly what are their responsibilities if a child discloses or exploitation is suspected.

Aim

To raise the awareness of professionals in relation to dealing with issues of exploitation and abuse.  What to look for and what to do if they suspect a child or vulnerable person is being abused or exploited.

Objectives
