Child Abuse in the Catholic Church

The torture that vulnerable children were subjected to by the Christian Brothers and other Catholic Orders in Ireland has been widely condemned.

The refusal of the Orders to name the 800 accused abusers and to pay full compensation has invoked even more fury from the victims and even from the leader of the Catholic Church in Ireland.

Kidscape calls for the accused priests, nuns and monks who raped and beat children to be named and prosecuted and for the Orders to pay full compensation to all the victims.

It is appalling that the criminals who did this are allowed to escape justice for what they did.  It is tantamount to rubbing salt in the wounds of the victims.
