Kidscape is launching the results of groundbreaking research at a conference
this Wednesday the 25th. The research was conducted during a three-year
pilot study of bullied children aged 8-15 who took part in a one-day intensive
assertiveness course—ZAP! The results were amazing and revealed
conclusively that the type of intervention offered by assertiveness training
can dramatically reduce bullying, self-harm and youth suicide rates. Among
the 750 participants in the study:
To share the findings and teachings of ZAP, Kidscape has produced a video ‘Bully-Free: Be Safe, Be Smart’—the first ever programme designed to teach young people how to be assertive to reduce bullying and boost their confidence.
Michele Elliott, Director of Kidscape will chair the day and talk about how Kidscape helps children stay safe from bullying and harm.
