Kidscape Safer Schools Database
What is the Kidscape Safer Schools (KSS) database?
The Kidscape Safer Schools Database has been designed to allow
the efficient reporting and analysis of the details, reasons
and environments surrounding bullying incidents in schools.
It has been successfully trialled in a number of schools, and
with the help of participant feedback, has been customised to
fit into a wide-range of educational environments.
It complements and enhances the strategies advocated in the Kidscape
training sessions to tackle the problem area of bullying that exists
in some schools or organisations.
How can KSS help schools?
- Provides a simple, centralised method of recording bullying
incidents
- Identifies vulnerable pupils and those that bully
- Provides an overview of general trends of bullying throughout
the school and the local area identifying trouble spots and reasons
for bullying incidents (e.g. school bus, corridors, emotional,
physical etc.)
- Provides supporting evidence for teacher\parent or governors
meetings, external audits and policy review concerning the area
of bullying
- Enhances or replaces current diverse monitoring systems and
provides a streamlined central point to access and record consistent
data
- Provides monitoring reports for Heads of Year
- Supports school initiatives taken in response to bullying issues
and informs further programme development
