Peter Gwynn Remembered

Peter was the most charming man - smiling, tanned, tall and a gentleman's gentleman.  He was a man of substance.

Many years ago we were both speaking at a conference on child sexual abuse and he, as the Chief of the City of London Police and as a father, was passionate and committed to stop this evil against children.

He was a spellbinding speaker and did much to bring the issue to the attention of both the public and the police. He had such a strong sense of fairness and justice that it was impossible to ignore what he said.

When I suggested to Peter that we would love to have him as a Trustee of Kidscape, he did not hesitate to take on yet another commitment in his busy schedule.  'I thought you'd never ask', was his response.

He was a Kidscape trustee for nearly 20 years and we will miss his wisdom, humour, compassion and calming presence.  

Peter, you can never be replaced.

We will hold you in our hearts always and be grateful for the time you were here.  I can only think that the angels wanted you and who can blame them?
