Kidscape Runners Go The Extra Mile – Flora London Marathon
2008
Thank you!
Although the weather on 13th April 2008 could be considered
typical April weather with glorious sunshine and equally glorious
showers, the 35,000 runners pounding the streets of London, cheered
on by 500,000 spectators, and tangible atmosphere of excitement
was unlike any other normal Sunday in London. The Flora
London Marathon was most definitely underway, and amongst the
runners were six very special people taking part in the Flora
London Marathon for Kidscape.
Ashman Bailey, Andy
Catlett, Mike
Hiner, Mark
Kolesnikow, Matt
Rawsthorne and Kevin
Parke took on the ultimate challenge for
Kidscape, joining professional athletes and celebrities crossing
the finishing line after 26.2 miles, and raising over £14,000
(and still counting!).
Kidscape’s first ever London
Marathon team trained hard for months, running in sun, sleet
and snow, and fundraised equally hard. We are very proud
of them for this incredible achievement, would like to say an
enormous THANK YOU for all their hard work
and supporting Kidscape in such a significant way.
Thank you also to Ronhill and New
Balance, for kitting out our
runners in the finest vests and running shoes.
We will make sure that all their efforts go an equally long
way towards helping badly bullied children all over the UK.
