Kidscape - the Party
When Kevin Parke of Coca Cola Enterprisesand
Eddie Stobart of Stobart saw the challenges Kidscape
was facing, they decided to throw a party. Not just any party—but
one that would fill the ballroom of the Grosvenor House hotel with
a huge crowd boogieing to music, hosted by Alan Carr and June Sarpong.
And not just any music—The
Sugababes and Westlife led the bill, with more tunes from Amanda
Tinkler and Chico (who told us of his own experiences with being
bullied).
By the time DJ Tony Blackburn came on stage - this
was a happy crowd. And one that had shown its approval with some
generous giving, especially after the touching talks by Sam Payne-Cheney
and Sabrina Beevor, who’d come to a Zap session and changed
their lives.
Full of poise, they presented a new short film
that featured other Zap veterans, and touched the hearts of all
who were there. An auction - which included special Formula
1 tickets and the chance to name the 1000th Stobart truck - also
boosted the bounty, which will give Kidscape the funds to extend
services in many new ways.
