A to Z of Fundraising Ideas

Here are just some of the ways that you can help raise valuable funds for Kidscape.

A

A 50/50 Club  -   For those at work, gather £1 a month from colleagues. At the end of the month one person wins half and the other half comes to Kidscape.

Auction of Promises  -   Have an auction to raise money! Even if you don’t have any tangible prizes to give away, auction off promises (such as car-washing, carrying books around, make a packed lunch etc).

Back to Front Day  -   Wear your clothes inside out and back to front for the day, and raise money for Kidscape!

Bake a Cake  -   Everyone get baking for a cake sale to raise money. Take part in the Kidscape Kids Bake

Bike Ride  -   Get sponsored for riding your bike a certain distance, or a certain number of laps round a track.

Bingo  -   Have a class game of Bingo and charge £1 per entry

Bring a Book  -   Everyone bring in an old book (or two!) that they no longer want and have a used book sale. Raise money and get something new to read!

Bring and Buy  -   Bring in old games, books, toys, jewellery, etc, and set up a stand to sell them off. Find yourself a new treasure in the process…

C

Car Washing  -   Get your water and sponges at the ready! Wash your teachers’ and parents’ cars after school and in your lunch break.

Class Collections  -   Choose Kidscape as your class charity and have a class collection of small change at registration. Every penny counts at Kidscape.

Clothes Swap  -   Invite friends to bring round clothes and accessories that they no longer want. Charge a small amount for each item.

Coffee Morning  -   Come in early to school for a cappuccino and croissant with your classmates. Breakfast with a difference

Concert  -   Flex your musical muscles and put on a class concert for the rest of your school.

Cook Books  -   Cook up a storm! Write a class or school cookbook with all your homemade specialities, and recipes you have inherited through the generations… Proceeds can be split between your school and Kidscape.

Dance Competition  -   Dance bullying away by hosting a dancing competition, for which proceeds from tickets can go to help Kidscape combat bullying.

Doughnut Eating  -   a doughnut eating competition – remember, no licking the lips!

Dress Down/Non Uniform Day  -   Everyone pays £1or £2 to wear casual clothes to school or work. Or they could dress up for the day instead

E

Egg and Spoon Race  -   Ready? Set? Go! Have a day of crazy races, and charge a small price to enter.

Exhibition  -   Showcase your artistic talents and have an art exhibition for parents, friends and teachers.

F

Fair, Fete, Bazaar  -   Whatever you want to call it, make it festive and fun! Have a party for Kidscape!

Fancy Dress Day  -   Wear what you like to school – the crazier the costume the better!

Football Tournament  -   Have your own football tournament and see who comes out as champions! Charge a small price per team entry.

Friendship Bracelets  -   Show a friend you care, or make a new friend, by making your own friendship bracelet from our friendship bracelet kits. Order now from the Kidscape Shop

Fun Run  -   Go the distance for bullied kids! Run a mile, or a 100 metres… whatever you’re capable of and have friends and family sponsor you for Kidscape.

Guess the Baby  -   Staff and students bring in baby pictures and have to match up. Charge for guesses with a small prize for the winner.

Guess the Number  -   Guess the number of sweets in a jar, etc.Charge for guesses with a small prize for the winner.

H

Hat Day  -   Everyone wear a hat to school, and a prize for the most creative one!

I

Ice-cream Eating  -   Have a special lunch with every flavour and topping you can think of!

Ice-skating  -   Have a fun day out on the rinks and raise money for Kidscape!

Indoor Games Day  -   Dodgeball, relay races, trampolining… whatever your favourite indoor activity, play away in your lunch break.

J

Jeans Day  -   Wear jeans to school for a small price and help Kidscape to prevent bullying.

Joke-a-thon  -   Why did the chicken cross the road?... Get family and friends to sponsor you to tell as many jokes as you can!

Jumble Sale  -   One person’s junk is another’s treasure… bring in your old toys, games, jewellery, stickers etc and have a school jumble sale.

Karaoke Competition  -   Sing your heart out to all the classics while raising money for saying NO to bullying.

Keepy-uppy Competition  -   See how many keepy uppies you and your footballing friends can do, and get your family and friends to sponsor you.

Kite Flying Competition  -   £1 to enter and see who can fly theirs the highest!

L

Limbo Competition  -   How low can you go? Charge to enter. Have a small prize for the winner. ( maybe some back rub!)

Lunch money  -   Ask everyone to bring in sandwiches for a day and donate what they would normally spend on lunch.

M

Magic Show  -   Amaze your friends with a magic show. Charge and entrance fee

Mufti Day  -   Wear whatever you like to school for a small price.

N

National Day  -   Come to school dressed in your national clothing – a great way to recognise the variety of cultures all around you.

O

One Day Challenge  -   Get friends and family to sponsor you to the One Day Challenge - be silent for a day, fast for a day, hop for a day… whatever takes your fancy!

Outgrown Clothes Sale  -   Have a hand-me-down sale for the clothes that no longer fit you.

P

Party  -   Organise a party, dinner dance, fancy dress, charge for entry.

Penalty Shoot Out Competition  -   Find your school’s Paul Robinson and see how many goals you can score!

Photography Competition  -   Flex your creative muscles and have a competition for the best photo under a theme of your choice.

Plastic Duck Race  -   Which duck can ‘swim’ the fastest?

Q

Quiet Time  -   Get family and friends to sponsor you for a sponsored silence.

Quit  -   Get sponsored to give up something bad for you for a week (chocolate, crisps, sweets, TV, nail biting, etc.)

Quiz  -   Have a staff vs. students school quiz to find out who really is brainiest!

R

Races  -   Have a day of races and go the extra distance for bullied children. You can even get the teachers to join in!

Raffle  -   Gather together a selection of raffle prizes and sell raffle tickets to friends, family and teachers.

Read-athon  -   Love reading? Get sponsored to see how many books you can read in a week!

S

Sack Races  -   Hop your way along in a sack for Kidscape.

School Disco  -   Have a school disco and dance away bullying.

Small Change  -   Give out smartie tubes or similar to family friends and colleagues for them to fill with small change from their pockets or purses. You can put a sticker on each tube to say that the money will go to Kidscape. (mmm Who is going to eat the smarties?)

Sponsored Event  -   Get sponsored to do an activity of your choice… walk, race, silence, swim, not eating chocolate etc.

Sports Day  -   Have your own school sports tournaments, with a day of basketball, football, cricket, swimming, running, netball, rounders… Keep active and raise money to help victims of bullying.

Swear Box  -   Can be used for any word that you decide shouldn't be used that day or week, including swear words, but of course you don't swear, do you?

T

Talent Contest  -   Showcase the talents of all your class-mates and teachers, workmates.

Tea Party  -   Have cakes, scones and tea all for a great cause. Yum!

Tombola  -   Buy your school tombola ticket for the chance of winning a fun prize!

Treasure Hunt  -   Have a treasure hunt all around the school and see what you can find!

Tug of War  -   A battle of muscles!

U

Uniform Free Day  -   Wear whatever you like to school for a small price.

V

Variety Show  -   Whatever your talent, display it with a Variety Show for all the school.

Vegetarian Day  -   Have your peers, family, teachers and friends sponsor your entire class, or even school, go vegetarian for the day!

W

Welly Throwing  -   How far can you lob your welly?

Wine and cheese evening  -   Guess the wine (adults only I am afraid!)and cheese evening. Guests to pay entry fee and a fine for each incorrect guess.

Work-out-athon  -   Keep the muscles moving by doing a sponsored work out!

X

X-ercise  -   Keep fit with sponsored races, silly or real to include everyone.

X-mas Fair  -   Have a festive fair to raise money for bullied children.

Yo Yo Competition  -   Who can keep their yo yo bouncing the longest?

Zany Clothes Day  -   Wear whatever you like to school, so long as it looks crazy!
