Talk to any professionals involved to find out the facts. Depending
on how extensive the bullying is, you can talk to your child's teacher,
school staff, playground supervisors, the school nurse, psychologist,
counsellor, education welfare officer or the schools liaison officer
- the more people you talk to the better understanding you will have
of how your child is behaving
Talk to your child, reassuring him or her that you love them but it's
their behaviour that you don't like

Teach your child the difference between aggressive and assertive behaviour
Continue to work with the school to promote positive behaviour in

Find ways to reward your child for good behaviour
Practice positive strategies with your child, such as taking deep
breaths or walking away when he or she feels a 'bullying moment"

Invite one or two other children over and supervise to ensure your
child is learning good friendship skills
